Michael Houghton
Chief Investment Officer
Michael is the Chief Investment Officer of Lucerne Funds.
He is a senior finance and investment executive with over 25 years of experience in local and international investment markets. He has worked in wealth management, investment advice and portfolio construction.
He has previously held senior positions with Macquarie Bank, Citigroup Switzerland, JB Were and ANZ Private Bank.
Elva Steyn
Head of Distribution - Alternatives
Elva brings over 20 years’ experience partnering with financial intermediaries including IFA’s, dealer groups and platforms.
Elva has worked in distribution with the treasury teams of major banks, independent fund managers and research houses.
Faariq Furkan
Portfolio Manager
Faariq is the portfolio manager of the Lucerne Alternative Investments Fund, focused on liquid alternatives and multi‑strategy investing. He brings a holistic, total‑portfolio mindset to constructing and managing diversified portfolios, with a particular emphasis on risk management, capital preservation and thematic investing across cycles.
He has over 15 years’ experience across fund management, family office and private markets, with a strong track record in research, manager selection and portfolio construction. Faariq is a CFA charterholder and holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting and International Finance.
Before joining Lucerne, he worked at Yarra Valley Water in treasuries and economics, gaining valuable experience in balance sheet management, funding and interest rate risk.
